Exhibiting stunning mosaic like patterns of yellow, red, cream and brown cemented together by layers of translucent opal, this iconic Australian gemstone is set in a glass display case with bamboo base to make the perfect Australian gift.

Breccaited Mookaite is formed when Mookaite Jasper formations are fractured under tectonic stress. Over millions of years, silica rich waters seep through the fractured rocks depositing and forming translucent opal as the water slowly evaporates. Mookaite Jasper consists of the fossilised remains of a tiny creature known as radiolaria from up to 100 million years ago. During this process silica rich waters interacted with these remains in addition to impurities such as iron and manganense to produce the vibrant colours in Mookaite.
